12-13 POCSAG Encocder
The 12-13 SE is an RS232 device handling user selectable inbound serial protocols with the data validated then converted to Salcom Protocol. This is then POCSAG encoded and sent to a suitable transmitter. The 1213 SE can handle up to 50 sequential messages into the RS232 port, which are buffered then syntax tested before passing to the encoder. All serial protocols available are handled at 9600,N,8,1.
Supported protocols are: Salcom Protocol, PET/TAP, Daviscomm (Flex), NZFS TNPP, Salcom 12-84 Rx (Store Forward), Wave Com, GSM (SMS to POCSAG).
Messages are removed one at a time from the queue, checked by the programmed protocol handler, which will either acknowledge, reject or accept. Valid message transactions are then translated to Salcom protocol (all outgoing messages are in this format) and dispatched to the transmit buffer. Further messages will not be removed from the queue for processing until the encoder has finished processing the current message. This is controlled by the “busy” control line.
There are four user programmable inputs. Message content is stored in Salcom Protocol ie: CA1234567 1 text. Enabled inputs (once debounce timer is reached) have the message added to the queue for sending to the POCSAG encoder.
